monty + his girls, part 2
Laura and Monty asked us to take pictures of the girls again six months after their last photoshoot to see how the girls have changed over time. It is so fun to see Lucy (turns 4 in March!) and Jules (turns 1 the day after Lucy’s birthday!) grow up. My favorite part is seeing them begin to interact as sisters. I’m looking forward to taking their pictures again in the future to see how quickly they change. We were even able to get a few pictures of Monty and Laura together. Check out the painting on the wall of the picture of the two of them – Monty painted that! Another awesome part was that my new camera came right before the photoshoot, so David was able to second shoot with me – yay! You’ll see many of his shots below.
baby josiah is here!
This blog post is so special to me that I have been sitting here for a while trying to figure out what to say, so I will just start from the beginning. In 6th grade, I told Katie I was getting a pool and she should come over and swim in it that summer (see really old – and slightly embarrassing – picture). Sixteen years later, we are still best friends, even though we live many states apart. I cannot put into words the joy I have to be visiting Katie, Brian, and their new son Josiah James (JJ) in Vermont this week. JJ is just a month old and is already the sweetest little boy in the whole world. I can’t wait to watch him grow up – and am so grateful for technology so I can! Katie, Brian and JJ – I hope you like your pictures! With love, Sarah

rick + his girls (look familiar?)
If you think these photos look similar to another recent photoshoot – you’re right! Deanna and Laura are identical twin sisters – with daughters almost identical ages. When Laura emailed me about doing family portraits for Deanna, I was so happy – it was such a joy to shoot Laura’s family that I knew Deanna’s would be no different. And I was completely right – Rick, Deanna, Bella and Liv were a dream to photograph. Not only are they a beautiful family, but they have a beautiful home. I enjoyed my time there so much and am especially thankful to David for helping out with the girls during some of the shots!
christmastime with the nephews
I really do love this photography thing, and I love it even more when I get to take pictures of my family. My nephews, Luke Thomas (arrived on May 31st), Noah Daniel (4 years old) and Benjamin Joshua (2 years old) are so fun for pictures. Noah and Benjamin have such distinct personalities already. Noah is quiet, cautious and sweet; Benjamin is daring and spunky. I am really excited to see what personality Luke takes on – I know it will be a big one, just like his brothers! This is the photoshoot for their Christmas card.
monty + his girls
I was really excited when Laura asked if I could photograph her family at home. Laura and Monty are just such a cool couple, and their girls are quickly taking after them. The whole family, including Lucy (3) and Julia (4.5 months), made it so easy to take pictures. I loved Lucy’s sass and Julia was so easy going. I really enjoyed the time I got to spent with their family before school starts.
mike + erin + trey
Mike and Erin are great friends of ours that have had a really interesting last few years, including being drafted in the MLB, winning America’s Most Desperate Landscape on the DIY Network, having baby Trey 6 months ago, and buying a house 1.86 miles away from ours. We have developed a really fun relationship with Mike, Erin and Trey from playing Settlers every night the two weeks before Trey was born to brainstorming (and normally shooting down) new business ideas with Mike. I was excited to take some pictures of them with Trey (his real name is Michael but he’s the third one… hence, Trey) this week.
baby luke is here!
We have a new nephew!! Baby Luke Thomas was born on May 31, 2011 and weighed in at 9lbs, 9oz (wow!). He’s as special and darling as his brothers Noah (4) and Benjamin (2). Noah and Benjamin were loving their toy camera (guess I have a Christmas gift idea!) and were so sweet with Luke. They would pause every once in a while in their running around, run to Luke, kiss him and say, “I love you Lukie!” I had the pleasure of second shooting with Nicole Ladonne – see her photos here!
